Wooden Soap Mold
Candle wax or soap-making expert?

I have to pour a lot of wax on a wooden bowl … basically to make a structure that can make a latex mold. Let's see if I can make this. I have to finish with a round object larger resin. So I bought a plate work perfectly. The problem is that I have to make a mold inside the cup with a rubber mold compound. That will not work. So I'll fill it with wax. pop wax, and make a mold of the bottom of the wax … which would then be the same way that the inside of the cup. The problem is that I never used wax before, so I was manufacturers expecting some candles or something of that nature could help me. How or what use to get the wax to come out easily a mold? A wooden mold? So basically what is a good mold release. Any idea could be useful.

You can use oil or liquid soap to help to release the mold, but I would try to get some thin plastic, saran wrap type things, put that on your plate, then pour, it should release easily, but can cause wrinkles on the surface. If the recipient is not something we need to have another option would be to make a plaster cast of the cup, then pour the latex / resin the plaster mold. Be sure to put wedges in the plaster so you can get it apart somehow, plaster, but it's fun to work with and very faithful to the original form. If you have decent art shop no, crafts, and Micheals, but the supply of art, must be able to help more. Good luck. I'm curious as to what you're doing.
