Silicone Rtv Mold
can i make a mould for an ice sculpture out of Plaster of paris?

I want to make an ice sculpture mould of a tv by covering the outside in plaster of paris and then filling it with water and freezing it, would this work? i tried it with RTV silicone mix but it didnt work as it was too thin and just teared even after adding thrixotopic plus it is very expensive because i used a whole 2kg tin. so im looking for a cheaper option. any other suggestions will be appreciated

is the TV still functional?
Actually the RTV silicone would have been a good option as the mold has flexibility and allows therefore some undercuts. In addition to the RTV mold you should have made a mothermold out of plaster.
Here is a silicon mold making tutorial. It will give you at least some idea what keys are in mold making.
You should also figure out what undercuts are, you shouldn’t have any with inflexible materials like plaster. Before you even think of starting study the subject for a while so you have an idea what you are doing. It’s also a good idea to practice with something small and simple before you go to something large.
And yes, I hope you have a freezer which accommodates your mold or you live in Antarctica.
