Chocolate Molds VS. Soap Molds VS. Hard Candy Molds????

I decide what I want to do for Christmas gifts for my family. I am going to take Glycerin soap melt it down & re mold it into different things. I was wondering if i could use chocolate molds & hard candy molds for the soap? I am more so wondering about the chocolate Molds. I never melted soap or made candy or any of that stuff I don’t know what the melting temp is for soap or any tricks to it. I know that I can get candy & CHocolate molds cheaper than I can soap. Someone that has this experience before please answer! I don’t want any idiots that are gonna come in and say “I Don’t Know, But thanks for the points” I want advice! Thanks!

As long as you don’t plan to use the candy molds for anything but soap it should be OK. If the candy molds are flexible the soap should pop right out because soap itself is a lubricant….otherwise spray the molds beforehand with a little olive oil and the soap shouldn’t stick. You might also consider getting a silicone mini loaf pan ( the kind that has 4 to 6 mini loaf depressions in one pan.) The silicone can handle oven temps so the temp of the melted soap won’t hurt it at all. You can make large enough bars in these to allow you to embed decorative objects inside the soap such as flowers,real or silk, little toys for the kids on your list and even pictures you have laminated beforehand. The great thing about the silicone baking pans is that stuff doesn’t stick and to remove,you just turn the pan upside down and give a little twist. Good luck and have fun!
